A suitably foul day weather wise for a suitably foul situation. A second national lockdown was  always going to happen due  this government's comprehensive failure to get on top of the pandemic. It seems no lessons were learnt from the first wave and this one could be even worse. It's the lack of apology for getting things so catastrophically wrong for a second time that is the real kick to the gut. Of course mistakes were going to be made but it's owning up to them and correcting them which they have manifestly failed to do. We're now in an awful mess and they have no idea how to get us out of it. Can't even arrange a press conference on time on such an important manner - shameful. It's all enough to make you want to dive under the covers and not come back out.
