STORMY SEAS

With the possibility of a national lockdown starting next week Hubby and I decided to go over to Mum's.  We had some perishable shopping for her anyway.

We spent a bit of time cleaning up about 8 large bin liners full of leaves, which come down from the trees in front of her and her neighbour's bungalows.  She really can't manage all that now, she can do one or two bags but that is enough for her, well at 89 that is still pretty good.  We still left another 4 or 5 bags that could have been filled bug at least her and her neighbour can now open their front gates and get from their back doors to their washing lines OK.  Her neighbour will do the rest that have to come down, but we hope to have broken the back of that for them now.  Her neighbour is really good and so kind to her and my sister, even though he has a serious illness himself (non-Covid related).

Stopped off on Morecambe Prom to take this photo on the way back home, quite a few people about but all really well socially distanced and it was by no means crowded.  There was a great deal of bird activity there which was lovely to watch.  You can see quite a few in the blip if you look carefully, not all Gulls.

Whilst taking the photo, a Lancashire Council Truck pulled up and it was my LITTLE BROTHER!!  That was a nice surprise as I haven't seen him, or his partner, for months.  Apparently he was working today and he was working along The Prom at that precise time, so that was a really lovely coincidence and surprise.  Couldn't give him a hug of course but at least I could chat to him for a little while.

News is awful at the moment, what with an earthquake in Greece and Turkey and the terrorist attacks in France as well as Covid.  My hearts go out to all those affected by these terrible events.

After I got home  I needed some escape from this world so I sat and  watched The Bandwagon from 1953 (even older than me, just) with Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse.  So great to escape to a different time with such fantastic dancing.

It is very windy out there now but at least we got a bit of sunshine this afternoon, despite the wind.

Hope you are all well and staying safe.  Thank you so much for dropping by, your kind comments, stars and hearts - I love them all.

See you all tomorrow.
