Gloomy day

The brightest thing in the garden today is the lemon yellow of the field maple leaves.

We had a quick trip to the garden centre to buy hostas, ferns, and lilies to plant around our new pond.  We had hoped to find a few last minute bulbs, but they had been cleared away for the Christmas stock.
