Rocky Mountain Moments

Sights from my Bike Ride

I was planning to ride tomorrow because it's supposed to be warmer but it was so nice today that I decided to take advantage of it.  It was bright and sunny and in the low 50s.  Almost all the snow is gone.

The fires are still burning but not raging, so the firefighters are able to work on containment.  As you an see, the sky is blue again!

Top row:    Turkeys strolling through town
                    Our local wildlife center
Chubby Black-tailed Prairie Dog fattening up for the winter

Middle:      New hostess at the snack shop
Macintosh Lake with Mt. Meeker and Longs Peak in the background, both around 14000 ft. (about 4200 m)
Old farm house, needs a little TLC

Bottom:     Grazing horses.  Everyone who had room has taken in horses evacuated from the fire areas.  Lots of horses in the pastures.
Apple Valley Farmstead.  The derelict house above is on this property.  I think it's the original farm house.  3 modern houses on the property and a huge apple orchard.
I think this guy is self isolating.

Thank you to everyone for all the stars and hearts on my blips.  I appreciate all of them.  I hope to catch up with everyone tomorrow.  Too tired tonight after riding 27 miles.

I am grateful that my new winter biking shoes kept my feet warm and comfortable. :-)

Don't forget that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Please click on this link to help fund mammograms for people who can't afford them. It's free and just takes a minute!
