Panic buying

I was up and out early on the last day pre-lockdown to panic buy physical (asthma inhaler) and mental (plants) health. Turns out Mr B was already well ahead of the game and had calmly bought lots of extra milk, fizzy water, wine and crisps ages ago. (The sheer quantity of his purchasing helps explain why the excess is still in the hall.)

Fish panic today when a filter and heater both stopped working. Happily Mr B stepped into the breach and saved the Community Tank (which actually only has two fish in).

Meanwhile, work. Today was, despite current trying circumstances, a good day. And that’s all I can say about that.

The hens have tested the new food I bought for them today, though I suspect they test it only to check that it is up to scratch for the doves, who come and steal all their food. Not sure the doves get a look in with the morning bowl of vitamin-laced warm porridge though (did I mention we spoil our hens?)

Turns out we are not spoiling our son who did not enjoy our ‘first brocoli from the garden’ despite winning the caterpillar.

Awful events in Nice. Not sure I can start talking about that or I fear I might never stop.
