A Spiky Surprise.....

...in the garden on a wet mid afternoon, to find this visitor in the garden! A hedgehog. I've only ever seen two during the day in the years I've lived here, and one of them was in the town centre mid morning!

It even had a treat of suet for its troubles, before it disappeared like the flash into the undergrowth - yes, if you're not aware, they can certainly move! 

The plastic dome at the bottom of the photos is a solar light.
