Autumn through the window
View through the soon to be renewed windows.
Tomorrow is phase 2 of operation renovation. 18 months ago we started out to make some big changes inside and outside our house. After six months of seeking planning permission and building warrants, we appointed a contractor, he was due to start work last April, move on through lockdown, material shortage and suppliers inundated with orders and here we are. Along the way we discovered Asbestos in a textured paint used on a wall we wanted to remove and an area of ceiling that has to be opened up to check condition of existing timbers in a 1970 addition to the house, tomorrow the specialist team arrive to remove it. So about 50 years ago someone paid a few pounds for a readily available thick paint at their local DIY shop and unwittingly used on the walls and ceiling. To legally and safely remove it runs into 4 figures and that is only for the areas we want to change, the rest will remain untouched.
