Stormy skies over the allotment

No rain when we got up so a nice walk round AH grounds with Fletch before driving up to Penrith. Somehow we missed the rain though there were plenty of dark clouds everywhere and the roads were often very wet from the sudden showers  ahead of us. Quite a few rainbows too.
Arrive early but that just meant we had longer there. Strolled down past the allotments as it threatened to rain but a spark of sunshine side lighting these allotments spurred me to take this blip. 
Are allotments quintessentially British?  

Walked down to The Lemon Tree for some lunch and then wandered over to the Fish Cellar and bought some dressed crab , trout and a small pheasant for M. 
Next stop the Toffee Shop  to stock up on fudge  and  Mountain Warehouse  to replace Ms worn out hiking socks. 
We got caught in a heavy shower but it didnt last long as we went up to the garage. Half an hour wait then home . 
When we bought the car 6 years ago the Toyota garage was only 20 miles away.  It was very annoying when it closed only 6 months later. I feel really tired. Seemed a long day. Of course it didnt help that Fletch woke me up during the night wanting to go out!

Dark by 5 tonight.. not so cheerful news on the tv. I am considering hibernating!
