The Rooftops of Valle de Abdalajis
An early start and after coffee and some very tasty tapas at the local bar in Valle de Abdalajis, the village where we are staying, we set off on a gravelly mountain road with big pot holes and steep drops! The road took us into the heart of the Penibetica mountain range, then it was a hike from the hinterland out and around in a loop with a steep climb up to the highest crags. The views were stunning out toward Alora, El Chorro and all the other Sierras. The local flora was again quite different from previous days, a white Aquilegia, blue dwarf Iris, small white Narcissi, pink Cranesbill and a plant which reminded me of Knophler. We think they were Vultures.
