Robbie and his owl Skittles

Mr WeeL and I went a drive today as the sun was shining and I thought I could get a nice landscape shot. We nipped in to a garden centre for a cup of tea and a scone and came across Robbie, his Mum and 4 beautiful owls. Robbie's Mum has Clyde Valley Birds of Prey which is at Dobbies Garden World, Sandyholm Crossford and its well worth a visit as the birds are amazing (the scones are also very good)!

Robbie has his own owl, Skittles. He was a bit shy at first but we managed to persuade him into having his picture taken with Skittles who wasn't shy in the slightest. Skittles is a barn owl and was extremely tame. She prefers to cuddle into Robbie but this is her on his shoulder.

Mr Weel then took me to a cake shop in Kilncadzow which sold massive cakes. I have never seen cakes this big - éclairs that were 5 times their normal size! So we stopped by to see Jim's boys and his brother and gave them part of the cakes as we went. I have now overdosed on cake and feel a bit squeamish!
