Wet wet wet
A good big breakfast albeit in a conservatory with rain, then I needed to do a work meeting so K headed off to explore the town. I joined her an hour later and we explored the beautiful buildings and cobbled streets...despite the rain the colours of the brick and stone were lovely, and this autumn display fitted right in. Reminded myself of the delights of Mermaid St and the house with two front doors and as we tried to find somewhere to book for dinner (with little success) it was lovely to be inside the old buildings. Really feels so ancient...13th century pub with huge fireplace was gorgeous.
Decided to go back to the hotel to dry off and relax for a while then headed to Rye Harbour, Winchelsea and Winchelsea beach for a look. Too wet to get out and explore, other than for a dash to see the sea at Winchelsea beach in howling gale and horizontal rain. We could hardly keep our cameras still!
Back to watch a couple of episodes of Somebody feed Phil on Netflix then out for burgers to a place called Hoof. Not quite the Blasburger type place (from St Ives) we were hoping for but tasty enough and I tried courgette fries for a change that were good.
Trying to make arrangements for tomorrow but as usual not knowing quite what to do
