A Day In The Life

Angry Bird

Because of a busy morning running errands, I didn’t fill the feeders until this afternoon. Tsk! Tsk! The birds were in a feeding frenzy, flying here and there, fluttering to find an open spot at the seed bar, forcing those deemed unworthy off their perch, etc. I felt a bit guilty but then realized they might know a cold night lies ahead @ 26F. Brrrr! Good thing I plugged their bird bath in to keep ice from forming for their morning sips • The weather forecasters are also frenzied trying to determine if central and southern Maine will see its first snow of the season Thursday night. Yes, it’s early. Thankfully it would be an overnight event and the daytime temps on Friday will be above freezing. No worries here! • Finally, this Pine Siskin has quite the attitude berating this little female goldfinch who only wants a seed or two. This would be a good time to insert your favorite swear word ;) No worries here either! The feeder was filled to the rim soon after • Peace restored.
