Today, we had a planned trip...

...on a guided tour of the deer park at Harewood. Despite the rather unpleasant weather, we watched, and learnt quite a bit about, the deer herds in the park.

I was quite pleased that I just managed to catch this rutting red deer in active pursuit of one of his attendant ladies (even thought the photo should be sharper!). She snubbed his advances on this occasion! (Perhaps because he didn't warn the photographer of his impending speed.)

I've also included a more peaceful shot of a fallow deer, which came close enough to give me a portrait opportunity.
