The Patinated Piper

There is actually a city called Hamelin.  But the German spelling is Hameln and since there are no Englisch words that end in -eln, you were given a helpful 'i'.

I know I struggled with Kartoffeln (potatoes), Pantoffeln (slippers) and thousands of other words. Now I just pretend I'm from Sachsen* and everybody just smiles and nods. 

Went for my eye-test today.  Confirmed that I am blind up close and I could also do with a pair of glasses just to wear all the time.  You will get a picture of the new glasses next week.

I might also have to give you a picture of the wonky glasses I have to wear at the moment.
