Today's the day ………………………. for Threave
A long-promised visit to the NTS Garden and Estate at Threave, near Castle Douglas today.
It is the 60th anniversary this year of the School of Heritage Gardening, dedicated to the training of horticulturists, which is based there. There was a full programme of events to celebrate that planned throughout the year - but, of course, it all had to be cancelled because of Covid19. Such a shame for them.
But there's lots to see there at any time - and there was still an abundance of glorious autumn colour in the leaves of the trees and other plants. I've put a couple of the Acers in the extras.
And I always love these slate urns by Joe Smith of Crocketford - buried in bamboo and Bergenia …………………...
