Near home

This morning I had a lovely walk from home. Weather was good.

Work was good as well in the afternoon. The only thing not so good was the fact that when I left work it was dark. Sigh. Those days have begun...

And I have a book review for those interested. Last week I finished "The Wild Silence" by Raynor Winn. It got 5 out of 5 stars from me.

My review :
Even better than her previous one. Though I didn't immediately think so. I was looking forward to read about how they would continue life after the walk. In stead there were a lot of flashbacks and there was the story of her dying mother. In hindsight both served a purpose for the rest of the story. And if I hadn't been focused otherwise I would have appreciated it more. Because it was very well written. Not an easy read though.

Later on we get to see the struggle to continue life. I had not realised some of Raynor's personal struggles in the first book but she shines a light on them now. Which makes it at times hard for her to move forward. To be able to take another leap of faith and start all over again.

A great read. I almost feel like starting over both books.

For those being both a fan of her and of Rachel Joyce (like me) : on the 8th of november there's a live stream with both of them on Youtube. With the title Travelling hopefully. A very apt title for the books they both wrote.
