Gatepost Triptych
It has been a wet, cold and uninviting day, although we did manage to complete our morning walk as the rain started. The benefit has been that I found time to begin to sort through some of the flowers of images I have taken this year and select and sort the better ones into collections for different projects. This triptych is of 3 gateposts that stand within a few metres of each others on one of the parish boundaries. It is for my project on the Landscape and History of the parish where we live. The markings on the three posts suggest that they have different providences and history ranging from the one which has been carefully shaped with decorative markings to large post that has been moved several times over the years as adjustments have been made to the entrances to fields.
This afternoon we visited Wentworth Garden Centre and purchased a cordon apple tree, a contorted hazel and golden cornus. The latter two for the burgeoning small woodland corner in our garden. The garden centre was very busy (we forgot it is half-term) and didn't feel very Covid safe, with few people wearing masks and none of the staff. The evening is now drawing in quickly and it is not yet 5 p.m.
