Belhaven Beach - Focus Stack
I am still playing around with the focus stacking technique in landscape photography and on this occasion I was using a telephoto lens looking across the beach towards the bridge to nowhere. My initial focus was on the gulls in the foreground and from then on the camera takes over focussing on the bridge and then on the golfers in the background. You then combine the three images using stack and blending in photoshop to obtain an image that is sharp throughout. If you look at my blip on the computer you can blow it up and check that the birds and the people on the bridge and the golfers in the distance are all equally sharp. This can , of course look a bit hyper-real as it is not the way our eyes see the scene but it could e a useful technique in certain circumstances.
