We had a socially distanced visit on the deck with Gary and Izzy today, and then met Cali for a coffee.  My picture is taken from the window of the museum cafe, and shows the path up to the farm, which is run in the manner of the 1950's.  The farm was gifted to the National Trust as the couple who owned it, and had never modernised it, had no offspring to take it on, and wanted it to show the farming life of the '50's to future generations.  It is also interesting as this area was a Covenanter's area, and the farmers fought hard to keep our religion, and were persecuted for a long time.  Their endeavours created the Church of Scotland.  In one of the rooms in the farm is an exhibit relating to this period.

During the non-Covid summer months, they run a tractor and trailer up the path to the farm from the museum, on which visitors can travel, and the children love it.  Or you can walk the mile or so up to the farm, which is a very pleasant walk.  We took our grandchildren up when they were small and they were fascinated to see the cows being milked '50's style.
