Proper pud
I don't often make a "proper pud", they take too long and I don't have the patience. I also have a sweeter tooth than MrHCB so I usually end up eating more than my fair share which isn't good for me. But MrHCB presented me with a recipe that he had found in the newsletter of the nursery from which we buy our trees. It is called "Apple and Quince Amber" - effectively an apple and quince meringue pie. As we have lots of both fruit, I gave it a go. It's delicious and MrHCB seems to like it as much as I do. The quince gives the golden colour, a graininess to the texture and a lovely perfume. The extra is one of the quince when it was still on the tree.
