Sunset after surgery
Backblip -
Today is the day!
I arrived at the surgery center at 6:45 am, and was prepped for surgery. I agreed to a nerve block in the shoulder, which the anesthesiologist did, then they put me "out". Then, I woke up with a huge padded bandage on my shoulder, they took out my IV, got me dressed, put my sling on, and I was out of there by 11:30 am. S picked me up and took my back to my hotel. I then laid down and went back to sleep for a couple of hours.
Since I had the nerve block, I couldn't really feel anything and I couldn't move my arm. It took about 12 hours for it to wear off and I could move it again. I slept on and off most of the day. I did go down to the little cafe in the hotel for dinner, but then went back upstairs and went back to bed.
I was surprised that I was actually so alert and mobile. Most of the time when I have had general anesthesia, I am out of it for the day and many times have been sick. Not this time. It was amazing! I even manage a sunset photo with my phone.
