Dickens

One of my prize possessions is a complete works of Charles Dickens, (Household Edition), published by Chapman & Hall, 193 Piccadilly, London.

I picked them up many years ago in a second hand book shop near Huddersfield (from memory) for an exorbitant (at the time) £48.

They are very old, and each copy bears the name: 'M. C. Garner' with a different date at various times between 1882 and 1884. I'm sure Mr/ Ms Garner would have received the delivery of each new novel with great excitement.
