The Learning Tree

Walking through Queen's Park, Burnley this afternoon I came across this tree which bears the inscription 'The Learning Tree'.  
Whilst being damaged and coming to the end of its useful life, it has provided space for some 'tree carving' and is still producing a few leaves and supplying food for various fungi.
Old trees never die, they just lose their leaves .... :-)
