Not just a bridge
When we saw this on the BBC website, and when the day suddenly brightened up, we decided to go to Pooley Bridge on the day the new bridge was opened. I have been blipping the bridge ever since I first photographed the old bridge before the floods, so it seemed only right to record this day.
We drove over the bridge and walked on it, but then decided to go into the cafe for gingerbread. We sat outside so as to get a good view of the new bridge but, even though it was nice to sit in the sun, the bright light made it very difficult to get a decent picture. In the end, this one taken as we left was the best one and suited me better, as you know I like a blip with a story rather than a still life.
So, here is the bridge and here is the cafe and here is a TV broadcast in the making. So when anyone sees this on the TV . . . I was there. We didn't see the sheep crossing though!
