the steeple hall 1755 is a prominent landmark at the top of the street...the steeple postcard 1900 shows the historic 18thC integrity still totally intact before demolitions right and left changed the village cross...in the card the lady on right is in the doorway of the former three storey Masonic Arms now a private house.
