Getaway

So I did this....a little escape that was safe during these uncertain times.  You book it online and they text you a code that provides you with a keyless entry when you arrive.  No interaction with anyone.

It's best described as a mini-cabin but it's not secured to the ground.  It can be moved if need be.  It has all the basic necessities that you would need.  It's rectangle shape is about the size of a small bedroom.  However, built into this small space is a tiny kitchen area, a bathroom with a shower, a table and chair for sitting and a nice queen size bed platform bed that is place up against a HUGE 6 x 6 window that looks out into the woods.  There is another window in the bathroom and also at the foot of the bed.
This particular destination was just outside of New York City (2 hrs) and located in the Catskill Mountains.  We made the drive in just about 2 1/2 hours.  We brought Dillon so we did make a couple of stops to walk him and let him have some water.
Outside the mini-cabin were two very comfortable Adirondack chairs and a firepit.  Also a nice size picnic table.  There are many hikes you can take that lead you to waterfalls, lakes etc.  At this time of year the leaves were just beautiful.  The air was cool and crisp and with every breath you smelled the pine trees.  I was truly happy.
As you can see from my collage, Dillon enjoyed the queen sized bed!!  I enjoyed the fire and being out in nature for a few days without any worry of crowds or having to be socially distant.
The guy who came up with this idea is a genius!
He has selected unique spots in the US where people can escape the city and feel like they can relax and decompress with nature.  I loved every minute of it and can't wait to go back in the snow!!!
