Early morning Mandevilla

Native to the southern states, grows well here in the summer but the cold winter will quickly kill it off. This particular plant survived last winter at the back of the garage, pretending to be dead. Also known as rocktrumpet.

The sugar maple is still holding out but the walnut and black cherry trees in the background have all turned and leaves are starting to fall.

Hopefully now that I have posted this entry I will be able to remember the name Mandevilla. (It is not montana, monsanto or montezuma)
