Busy as a bee

We have this plant in our garden which flowers really late, I cannot remember what it is but it gets bigger every year and the bees love it.  It has rather taken over a coner of our deck but it is a joy to see all the busy bees.

Rich has always said not pink flowers in the garden (I cannot remember why he/we have this rule) but this one is quite happy and not going anywhere.
