Life from city to village

Lindesfarne Castle

This morning, after breakfast, I drove up to Lindesfarne, and crossed over to Holy Island, just before the crossing officially opened. I walked up to the village, round up the Heuch, where the original chapel was sited,  through the harbour and up to the Castle and then round. Everything was shut - the Priory, the Museum and the Castle, but I did get some good pictures, even if the weather was a bit dull and misty.

In the afternoon I headed back to Bamburgh and walked round the castle, before going back to the beach and up towards the surfers gathering near the lighthouse. All in all I've done 16,000 steps. At the end was sudden torrential rain and I was drenched, so came back to the hotel for a bath and to change.
