A Bien Tot Rio, Bonjour Paris
Following a 10.5 hour flight, we jumped on the Roissy bus from Charles De Gaulle Airport to Paris Opera then dragged our cases to the lovely La Maison Favart round the corner. We managed to blag an early check-in as we looked half dead through lack of sleep over the last three days, so when we caught sight of the gorgeous bed lit by two humungous chandeliers, it only seemed right to test it out (for just 40 winks, no nooky)!
We got up late afternoon and headed for Place De La Concorde where we grabbed a crepe with chestnut sauce as we were concerned we'd missed Pancake Day. Then as true tourists do, we snapped away at the Champs Elysee and Arc de Triomphe, and checked out a couple of souvenir shops (still Christmas decoration hunting). It wasn't long before we spotted this nice little monument, we overheard someone say it was known as the Eiffel Tower. It was just as impressive as the one in Blackpool.
Then onto La Saotico for foie gras, scallops, lamb and steak washed down with a Parisien priced bottle of red, and finished with a creme brulee. Gotta love the French (cuisine)!
