Scrumping

This apple tree alongside a nettle and bramble-filled footpath near Sizergh had lots of fruit on the ground just waiting to be picked up, and a few on the tree too.
I've just found a definition of 'scrumping' which says 'stealing fruit, especially apples, from someone else's trees. British. It's considered less bad than, say, shoplifting, but adults still disapprove.' Oops.
