Symmetrical chimneys

The chimneys are those of the houses (many now divided into flats) in Moray Place. Not Moray Place, Edinburgh headquarters, according to Alexander McCall Smith, of the Scottish Association of Naturists, rather Moray Place, Pollokshields in Glasgow’s Southside.
When I walk past Moray Place I’m usually going in the opposite direction and more occupied with the front elevation, particularly the numbers 1 and 10, the east and west ends, which feature a stunning projecting pavilion type structure. Number one was the home of their architect, Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson.
Some of the chimneys look a tad fragile and at least one has lost its crown.
This time I approached from Queens Park where I was checking on the progress of the cygnets. I discovered that all but one have been dispersed to other places, the remaining cygnet is almost fully grown and looking very dappled, its beak will remain grey/brown for some time, even after it is white all over. I diverted down Newark Drive which takes you directly into Maxwell Park, and then along St Andrew’s Drive back home via Pollok Park. Normally this three-park walk is around 5 miles, today it was nearer 4 so either Newark Drive provides a significant shortcut or I was less prone to distraction and diversion.
The rain looks set to be back tomorrow.
The extra blip is the dappled cygnet.
