Haughmond Abbey

The sun was shining when I left home to head to the Abbey. I thought it would be a great place for a Blip. I had a lovely walk through the woods and then went into the Abbey ruins. English Heritage says this about the Abbey.
The extensive remains of an Augustinian abbey, including its abbots' quarters, refectory and cloister. The substantially surviving chapter house has a frontage richly bedecked with 12th and 14th century carving and statuary, and a fine timber roof of around 1500.
A stunning place to sit and contemplate. Sadly it started to rain heavily, so I scooted back home.
