Arfa seems to be a bit put out that Shadow isn’t around. They weren’t cuddly but had reached an amiable acceptance of each other. I guess what he mostly misses is all the bits of food he was always cleaning up after Shadow had eaten some, but not always finished it.

However, Deirdre was at the vets last weekend and has been diagnosed as having early kidney failure! Arfa hasn’t yet cottoned on that we slip her bits of extra meaty food through the day as well as her special ( expensive ) renal biscuits. She looks better and is only 5yrs old (ish, she adopted us so we’re not sure ) so may be able to fight it better than Shadow, who was at least twice her age when he started with it.
