Dee Estuary

Today's the day …………………….. for red and gold

After a very miserable day of gloom and then heavy rain, I looked out the window late afternoon to see that the rain had stopped - and everything was turning red.

It only lasted half an hour or so before the sun disappeared down behind the hill - but it was long enough for me to rush out on to Tongland Bridge and take this.  The River Dee was on its way out to the Solway, leaving the estuarine mud exposed to view.  And it really was as golden red as it looks …………………..
