Sheep and ruined tower

This was my first trip to Fala Moor (where I had been intending to go for some years) and it's a fairly desolate spot. T and I wanted to check out the loch which is a roost for wintering pink-footed geese. We did see the loch but decided not to yomp through the heather to get to it as we couldn't see any geese (admittedly it wasn't roosting time) and it was pretty small, so it was a bit of a letdown. Still, it got us out for a walk and it was quiet as far as other walkers were concerned, so we weren't too unhappy with our outing. It was a grey day and there was a bit of drizzle but it brightened up later on and we actually had shadows briefly. We were very glad that there wasn't a lot of wind as there was no shelter at all near the loch and it would have been seriously unpleasant on a windy day.
