All In All

Early start with a friend giving me a lift to Helston for my appointment at the macular clinic. A second steroid injection in my right eye won’t cure the degeneration but it will slow it.
A quick journey home for a wash and brush up before heading off to Falmouth Docks for a visit to HMS Tamar.
The Tamar is a Batch 2 River-class offshore patrol vessel of the Royal Navy and is named after the River Tamar. She is the fourth Batch 2 River-class vessel and at 90m long she carries two rigid inflatable boats and is armed with a 30 mm DS30B gun; 2 × General purpose machine guns; 2 × Miniguns, she also has a self contained Embarked Force Barracks for fifty-one troops. Her ships company operate a ‘Five Watch’ manning system meaning a fifth of her ships company are ashore on leave or courses.

She is also the first ship I have visited since I left the Royal Navy in ‘03 that made me wish I was back in.
Great ship with tremendous capabilities.
