Just popped in for peanuts

This little bird has learned how to hide in the corner of the bird table and get more than his fair share of the peanuts :-)

An interesting day for me as far as football was concerned. I'm a Nottingham Forest season ticket holder and my team has been rather the subject of ridicule in recent months. Our new Kuwaiti owners have been splashing the cash to little effect and we are currently on our fourth manager of the season. After a whole host of sackings at the club (which prompted the terrace singing "We're Nottingham Forest, we'll sack who we like") one of our former managers has been re-appointed.

Billy Davies is crazy. He was successful before but he was likely to fall out with anyone and everyone. He's without doubt the biggest nutter in the game since "ol' Big 'Ed" and it's just possible that he might have some of that kind of success.

His first home game in charge raised the tempo. There was an enormous crowd. Lots of fans were there early to cheer his return. And, another sign of similarity with the old hero, he decided to address all the fans before the kick off. Electronically, of course. But he's certainly not lacking in confidence.
