Strawberry tree

We had to get out our Gardener's Encyclopaedia to identify this shrub!! It had white flowers (unusual in the Autumn) and little red and yellow fruits, which looked a bit like crabapples. Apparently the fruits have developed from last year's flowers, and it always flowers like this in the Autumn ... Well! Well! Well!
