Sunshine and Showers
Well the weather forecast for today was a tad wrong. In theory we had a risk of a light shower for an hour, in reality we had sunshine and showers all day and my two lots of washing is mostly drying inside. This afternoon I watched the BluRay of Cats which I thought was ok, despite it being panned by the critics. If you've seen it on stage you know it takes a while to adjust to what you're seeing and the film is similar but takes a bit longer.
Day 216 / Day 4 of The 3 Tiers (for my record only)
UK deaths up 150 to 43,579 (revised basis), with a 16,171 rise in new daily cases, 5,608 patients in hospital and 592 in ventilator beds. Nearly 1,000 patients were admitted today and total cases to date in the UK passes 700k. 28m people in the UK are now under tougher Tier 2 or 3 lockdown restrictions. Nottingham still has the highest rate of new infections in England due to an outbreak at the university - now 922.2 cases per 100k. It's now Day 6 of the Greater Manchester (Labour) Mayor refusing to accept Tier 3 restrictions and threatening legal action if they're imposed by the Govt. Liverpool Mayor's brother has unfortunately died of the virus. The NHS Covid-19 app sent incorrect alerts to some users saying their area's risk level had changed and is lower than it actually is.
