Smoke trees

We went in search of Smoke trees today which are only found growing wild in this area ( or south east Europe). They change colours for the last two weeks in October and we were worried that we might be too early but they were magnificent. The whole area is part of a nature park and we also saw butterflies, dragonflies and crickets (again only found in this area). We were also delighted to see new born Valais Blacknose sheep (see extra) which we didn’t expect as autumn is well established, and spent 15 mins watching them.

However, we had a stark reminder of where we live when we came across a group of six men with rifles out hunting!

Later in the afternoon, we had a bike ride to explore the area and came across some stunning villages (see extra).
