...the weather today was better than forecast and even better than yesterday - in fact, shirtsleeves weather and absolutely glorious in the warm sunshine. It wasn't only us enjoying the warmth as I saw my first free flying Peacock Butterfly while walking along the ridge.
For some reason, the south Purbeck ridge, from Gold Down near Worbarrow to Kingston via Swyre Head, always reminds me of Hadrian's Wall, especially this section on the MOD ranges. The route was actually in use long before the Romans arrived...
