Very relieved to see the end of the week.
A cycle down to the lake after work, darkness had pretty much set in by the time I got back. The first layer of tarmac has been laid down on the bridge. I’m a curmudgeonly old sod but it is starting to look quite good with the sandstone parapets and the sandstone paving setts along the walkways but I’m still struggling with the cost and the other bridge functionally did the job .. and I do miss the intimacy of the refuges that you get along the spans of the old stone bridges.
