South of England Cross-Country Championships

The South of England Cross country Champs were held this year at Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead Heath, and to borrow horse racing parlance, the going could definitely be described as 'bottomless'. Nevertheless there was a big turnout. This is the under 13 boys race, and James, running for Woodford Green AC in the green hooped vest came in 63rd out of 204 runners.

On our way back I bought some fresh Dorset squid from the fish stall at Hampstead heath Farmers Market, so it's a big pile of calamari and chips for everyone for dinner! Lovely.
