A Brighter Day
April showers today, but not inside Longwood's Conservatory. I don't remember the name of this flower, but the simple pattern and beauty of it really brightened my day. I just can't wait for consistent warm weather, starting my very own garden, and putting the sprinkler out for the kiddies.
Funny thing happened today. I was walking with my daughter to the gardens when she spotted a twenty dollar bill on the ground. It was a little crumpled and wet, but later the cashier had no problem with it as we bought a snack at the cafe with it. Alyssa was thrilled to be allowed to handle the whole transaction on her own. She even collected the change and slipped it into her pocket.
The little old lady behind us in line was rummaging through her rather large purse with growing intensity. More to herself than to anyone else she muttered something about how she must have forgotten her wallet at home. All she had was a quarter found at the bottom of her purse. Alyssa didn't miss a beat and instantly handed her our change, saying, " Here you go, you can use some of our good luck!"
Now if that doesn't brighten one's day...
