Flower Friday . . . Lily of the Valley

This morning I couldn't resist plucking two stems of lily of the valley from the garden  even though it is just opening.  I look forward to it every spring.  A quick Google and I found the flower is a symbol of good luck and happiness.  It is supposed to protect gardens from evil spirits.  It is the flower of fairies as it's tiny bells are used as cups to drink from.  It is Finland's national flower.
Tomorrow is polling day for our elections.  Covid has meant early voting has been widely available and encouraged and we both voted last week.  There were also two referendum which took some thought.  One on legalising cannabis and the other is the end of life choice bill which gives people with a terminal illness the option of requesting assisted dying.  I am more interested in the outcome of those than what the makeup of parliament will be.  The polls suggest the Labour Party and Ms Adern will prevail.
Happy weekend to all.
