Chapel of St Mary of Geddes

The Chapel of St Mary of Geddes. Although there has probably been a Chapel on this site since 1220 the present ruins are not of great antiquity and were built as a private burial place for the Roses of Geddes and Kilravock. They stand within an attractive circular graveyard and contain several large yew trees. (See extra)

The main picture is one of an assemblage of stones, set into the inside wall of the Chapel which commemorates members of the Geddes family including Hugh Rose who died in 1484.

It depicts a detailed skeleton wearing a crown, the crown signifies righteousness.
