2020 Tuesday — Sail Away

This just looks like fun. I really like the colorful sail and I think this scene is beautiful. I actually think this is more beautiful from my camera than it was in person; it is usually just the opposite.

Walking by the back bay, watching the boats, the birds, the otters, and everything has become a favorite activity for the two of us and our two pups. We’ve always been beach people, but I think we’d now say that we are also bay people. We were certainly glad to be there today.

Noticing which way the boats are pointing and then knowing whether the tide is coming in or going out has been fun and noticing the boats turning and knowing the tide is changing direction has been entertaining. I now know that we’d love living by Morro Bay’s Back Bay Estuary as much as we enjoy living by the ocean.

We’ve always thought that the community of Morro Bay is more foggy than Cayucos, similar to Santa Cruz and Monterey north of us on the Monterey Bay. We don’t much enjoy the fog, but we’ve wondered if looking toward Morro Bay from Cayucos the fog looks thicker than it really is if we were there. Most of all, we thoroughly enjoy being near water.
