fall

We are now well and truly into the season of "fall" as opposed to "autumn". Our driveway is covered in crisp sycamore leaves, which Jess likes to chase. We never sweep them up - the wind does that for us. The only leaves we collect are those which fall off the creeper covering the house. They fall in drifts against the house and form a wet brown slimy mass if left there. The leaves in this photo are from a beautiful maple at the end of our garden.

We walked to Routin Brig as usual, and then a little further, almost two miles, as I was feeling up for it. So far I don't feel especially tired or achy. Which is just as well since its my turn to make the tea tonight..minestrone soup :-)
