Far from the madding crowd.
Out beyond Forsyth Island in a little bay facing the Cook Strait is this farmstead. The guy who lives there is 86, he has just put a new engine in his boat and has every intention of bequeathing the boat to his heirs with a worn out motor. It is over 20 miles to Havelock and probably 50 plus to Picton, and he sails there every month to see his Wife who is a bit poorly and needs looking after.
The setting is magnificent, the solitude a bit worrying.
